Kharkiv, Ukraine

Between 20 and 26 August 2013, Symphonic Brass Wales was invited to perform at an event commemorating the 70th anniversary of the liberation of the city of Kharkiv, Ukraine, as guests of the Department of Culture of the Kharkiv Region.
The visiting ensemble comprised of a 25 piece band - a double symphonic brass ensemble / reduced brass band with additional percussion.
During their visit the ensemble were fortunate enough to perform for then President of the Ukraine, Viktor Yanukovych and a host of VIP guests, together with bands from across Ukraine and other nations, including Russia, Moldova and Turkey.
SBW also performed in an massed open event for the general public in Freedom Square, and gave a stand alone concert performance for people of the Chervonozavodsky region.
